King Laundry Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all services provided by King Laundry ("King Laundry," "we," "us," or "our"), located at 1980 Maple Avenue, Los Angeles, CA. By using our services — including drop-off laundry, wash-and-fold, King Express pickup and delivery, our mobile app, our website, and our text message (SMS) program — you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Program Description

King Laundry's SMS program sends transactional order notifications (order received, ready for pickup, out for delivery, delivery completion, payment receipts, and verification codes) and, if separately opted in, occasional promotional messages (discounts, loyalty rewards, and referral offers) to customers who have consented to receive text messages from King Laundry.

How to Opt In

You may opt in to receive SMS messages from King Laundry through the King Laundry mobile app during account signup, by checking the separate, unchecked-by-default SMS consent box on the sign-up screen and providing a valid mobile phone number. Consent to receive promotional SMS messages is not a condition of purchase.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Transactional messages are sent as order and delivery events occur (typically 2–8 messages per active order). If you opt in to promotional messages, you will receive up to 4 promotional messages per month.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. King Laundry does not charge for messages, but your wireless carrier may. Check with your carrier for details about your messaging plan.

How to Opt Out — Reply STOP

You can cancel SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from King Laundry. After replying STOP, you will receive one final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent. To rejoin after opting out, reply START or sign up again through the mobile app.

Supported Carriers

Supported on all major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, Virgin Mobile, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is not guaranteed.

Privacy

Your mobile phone number and SMS consent information are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Mobile information is never sold, shared, rented, or disclosed to any third party or affiliate for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to enroll in the SMS program. You represent that the phone number you provide is yours or that you have the authorized account holder's permission to enroll. If your phone number changes, please update your information in the app or contact us to prevent messages being sent to a reassigned number.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order, leaving laundry with us, booking a pickup, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms on behalf of yourself and any other person on whose behalf items are tendered. You represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

2. Services

King Laundry offers drop-off laundry, wash-and-fold service, and "King Express" pickup and delivery. King Express pickups and deliveries are performed by King Laundry staff or by independent third-party logistics providers including Uber Direct (each a "Delivery Partner"). Delivery Partners are independent contractors, not employees or agents of King Laundry.

3. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for: (a) removing all contents from pockets and bags before tendering items; (b) disclosing any special handling requirements, delicate items, pre-existing damage, or items valued over $100; (c) verifying pickup and delivery addresses, gate codes, and contact information; and (d) being available to receive delivery or authorizing unattended delivery at your own risk.

4. Prohibited Items

The following are not accepted: items contaminated with blood, bodily fluids, or hazardous materials; items contaminated with flammable liquids or chemicals; firearms or weapons; leather, suede, fur, silk, wedding gowns, or items labeled "Dry Clean Only"; heirloom, antique, or high-value items (individually or in aggregate valued over $100); and items containing cash, jewelry, electronics, or other valuables. If prohibited items are tendered, we may refuse service or process them at your sole risk, and we shall have no liability for any loss or damage.

5. Pricing and Payment

Prices are as posted in-store or in our app at the time of order and may change without notice. Payment is due at the time of pickup, at dispatch, or as indicated in the app. Card payments are processed through Square or another third-party processor.

6. Turnaround Times

Any turnaround time or pickup/delivery window is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to equipment, staffing, weather, traffic, or Delivery Partner availability. No delay shall entitle you to any refund, credit, or damages.

7. Abandoned Property

Items not picked up within 30 days after the ready-for-pickup date (or 15 days after a failed delivery) are deemed abandoned. We may donate, sell, or dispose of abandoned items without further notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, King Laundry's total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to our services shall not exceed the lesser of: (a) ten times (10x) the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim; (b) $7.50 per pound of the affected items based on our intake weight; or (c) $100.00 total per order. This cap applies regardless of the actual or claimed value of the items. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Claims Procedure

Claims for missing, damaged, or improperly cleaned items must be reported in writing to King Laundry within 48 hours of pickup or delivery. Failure to provide timely notice waives the claim.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS or the American Arbitration Association in Los Angeles County, California. You and King Laundry agree that each may bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice within 30 days of first using the services.

11. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on our website. Continued use of the services after posting constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
